June 2014’s Monthly Business Book: The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss
I almost threw this book out of the window a couple times. I’m not sure if my enthusiasim waned because of this book itself or because all these business books I’ve been reading are starting to sound the same. I like to hear personal stories of what works for real people and their real small businesses. If you know of any books like this, please share!!
As always, these monthly books contain awesome quotes written by other people that inspire me, like this one:
“The factory of the future will have only two employees, a man and a dog. The man will be there to feed the dog. The dog will be there to keep the man from touching the equipment.”-Warren G. Bennis, adviser to Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy
This resonates with me as I force myself to stop writing the same email repeatedly, and rather make a canned response once and be all done. It’s a huge time saver!
Speaking of dogs…
I’ve read quite a number of business books in the past 4 months but only 3 had me thinking deeply: Quitter by Jon Acuff, A More Beautiful Question by Warren Berger and Never Eat Alone by Ferrazzi.
I find recently that I get more inspiration and insight from podcasts especially those that interview interesting guests such as the Good Life Project.
