Every wedding I photograph holds a special place in my heart. That may sound corny, but it’s totally true. I am way too much of an emotional person to not feel for my clients as they experience all the emotions that unfold on a wedding day.
One wedding this year that will always hold an extra sentimental place in my heart is this one… Anita and Alison.
The weather didn’t cooperate to say the least and when the first crack of thunder resounded through this gorgeous outdoor reception that the couple meticulously planned for over a year what happened next was simply awesome. Without request all the guests – dressed to the nines with makeup and hair done beautifully and outfitted in their best wedding attire – kicked into high gear and moved every. thing. indoors and set it all back up again within a half hour.
Instead of letting something like this ruin everything – a huge investment of finances and emotion – this couple and their guests embraced the chaos and somehow the wedding was an even greater celebration because of it! The pop-up summer thunderstorm may have prevented them from dancing under the lilacs and stars, but it didn’t stop them. Congratulations Anita and Alison!!
